Fantstic videos, thanks for these. Great to see 3 of my favourite drummers in their 'early years'. You can be sure that from now I will be visiting you regulary for my prescription!

THx Funk. I would like to trade for some of these vids. I did send you a list of what I had and didn;t get a reply.
BTW, does anyone else experience problems with QT when running XP? Solutions?

Thanks for these most excellent videos! Billy C. is just awesome on the Mahavishnu clip -- amazing speed and control. And I dig that clear-case set. Cool to see Vinnie groove on an old Yamaha (?) kit too. Thanks again for sharing...

Thanks Dr. Funk!!!
Vinnie was pretty hairy back in those Zappa days. Come to think of it,everyone in that band was pretty hairy. hehe
John Robinson is great. I saw him play alternate Ed Thigpen and Ed Soph with a Jazz combo at a PASIC convention in Ann Arbor Michigan way back in the early 80's and he can swing you into bad health. He really sounded great because of his time and feel! (Vinnie showed up late but didn't play. He was really skinny and was really hyper;hmmm, I wonder why?)
I recently learned to play flat footed by reading an old J.R. article in Modern Drummer. It helps keep the body centered better (more surface area and weight goes into the heels) and has really helped to control my time. It really burns the shins when you start to convert to the heel down approach. I find that I have better balance and have a steadier base now and consistency in my time has improved. I still use the heel up method for quicker doubles. I'm not dogmatic about it. Just thought I'd share since Dr. Funk was so kind.

Ben, I use Windows 98 se. (don't laugh!) and I just downloaded the new QuickTime 6 player. It did give me some problems on multiple downloads, so now now I get one at a time and it seems to be ok. Maybe it's a problem with the new software and they'll sort it out.

Doc - Thanks a billion for posting these!!!
Ben - I'm running XP and had QT v5 (free version, of course) and ran into the same problem. Open this link:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/qt/
and click on "Quicktime 6" in the "Download" box towards the upper right hand corner. Don't use the "standalone installer" version. It looks like that doesn't give you all of the necessary decoders.
I just installed QT 6 and all the videos are now playing fine!
